Healthcare at the Royal Arsenal
Healthcare is partly about prevention and partly about curing acute problems that may arise. Living in an area you know is safe and also provides opportunity for a healthy lifestyle, as well as medical assistance is crucial if you want to feel at ease. So let’s have a look at why the Royal Arsenal residential area is perfect for a healthy and happy lifestyle!
The Royal Arsenal Medical Clinic
For health check-ups, minor emergencies and flus, the Royal Arsenal Medical Clinic is on site and happy to help you. With opening hours from 07:00 till 18:30 it’s perfect for people who need to see a doctor before going to work, or after returning home from work.
The clinic conveniently offers services to those who travel as well, offering to evaluate what vaccines are needed, as well as check they are fit to travel.

Children and Healthcare
Children tend to catch bugs at their nursery or school, it’s part of growing up and parents’ lives become a lot easier if living close to a GP practice. As mentioned, the Royal Arsenal Health Care Centre is close and convenient.
If you’re planning to get pregnant you will also want to be close to your local GP as you will have to make quite a few visits for check-ups both before and after the baby is born.
For pregnant mothers, both the University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Greenwich offer care during pregnancy and birth. You can choose to deliver your baby in one of the delivery suites at the hospitals or at home, if it’s a straight forward birth. Both hospitals are NHS registered.
Antenatal care and workshops will be provided by community midwife’s at GP practices and Children’s Centres in the borough. If there are any problems during pregnancy, the antenatal care will be provided directly by the hospitals.

The two main hospitals in the area are the aforementioned University Hospital Lewisham and Queen Elizabeth Hospital Greenwich. Both hospitals provide emergency care, as well as a number of other services, including surgery.
A Healthy Lifestyle
Most people know they’re supposed to exercise, relax, spend time outdoors, eat healthily and sleep on regular hours. Most people know it, but they don’t follow it. Thankfully there are ways to make it easier to follow the guidelines for a healthy lifestyle.
Living at the Royal Arsenal riverside development means you have access to a gym, a 20m pool and a spa. Not bad for exercising and relaxing! In addition to this there’s a park and the river, which are as made for strolls during summer.
Spending time outside is made easier if you use the Thames Clipper service for getting to London as well. If you’re in a hurry to get to central London there’s currently the DLR at Woolwich and the Royal Arsenal crossrail station is set to open in 2018. Great transport options and spending less time commuting will help reduce stress in your life and leave you with more time to do what you love.
There’s a farmers market at the Royal Arsenal riverside as well, which is open on Saturdays. Ideal if you want to get your paws on nice fresh fruit and veg, as well as homemade delicacies.
Community is actually also a big part of a healthy lifestyle and thanks to the Berkeley Group’s focus on creating social sustainability (you can read more about it ), there is, compared to other parts of London, a good community feel in the Royal Arsenal residential area.
